Every shortcut in DayMap

The menu bar shows you most of these already. This page is for the ones it can't — the keys that work on the board and the calendar, where there is no menu to read them off.

Start here if you start anywhere. Select a task, then use the arrow keys to move, Space to tick it off, and Tab to make it a subtask of the one above. Those four do most of the work, and none of them appear in a menu.

On the board

With a task selected. Click one to select it; the keys below then act on it until you click somewhere else.

Move the selection up or down
Return Open the taskThe same as double-clicking it.
Space Complete, or bring it back
Tab Make it a subtask of the task above
Tab Move it back out of being a subtask
Delete Delete the task
C Copy the task, with its subtasks
X Cut the task, with its subtasks
V PastePasting plain text makes a task per line. Copying a task out of DayMap gives you its title, so it can go into any other app.

On the calendar

With a scheduled block selected, for the times dragging something a few minutes is more precision than a trackpad wants to give.

/ Move the block earlier or later
Delete Take it off the calendarThe task itself is kept — it goes back to its project, undated. On one day of a repeating task, only that day is cleared.

iPhone and Apple Watch aren't listed because neither takes a keyboard in a way that would make a shortcut worth learning. Everything here is on the Mac unless it says otherwise.

This page prints. If you'd rather have it on paper beside the keyboard for the first week, that's what it's for.
