Ten days ago I wrote about everything DayMap had become this fall. Since then the emails kept coming, and most of what follows started as one of them: someone using DayMap every day, noticing what was missing, and taking the time to tell me. These updates are smaller than the last ones, and I think you will feel them every day.

Deadlines with a time
A deadline can now have a time of day. Turn on Set a specific time under the deadline, and on the day itself the flag shows the time, then Overdue once it has passed. A repeating deadline keeps its time every time it comes around, so "reports due Friday at 5" stays at 5 every week.
Summary shows more
Summary, your look back over a week, a month or a year, has a new Show menu with two options:
Completion Dates puts the day you finished each task under it. A repeating task lists its dates when there are seven or fewer, and its first and last day when there are more.
Where Tasks Come From names the task each subtask sits under, so two "Call the vendor" lines under different tasks show you which is which.
Both carry through to Save PDF and Print, and both stay on until you turn them off.
Add a task without leaving Focus
If you work from Focus for most of the day, you no longer have to close it to add something. On Mac and iPad, type into the New task field at the top of Focus and press Return. The task goes on the day Focus is showing and is selected, ready for notes, and the field stays ready for the next one.
Moving project columns, smoother
On Mac and iPad, dragging a project column to a new place feels better. A folded column now travels as the narrow strip it is, the columns beside it slide aside to make room, and nothing is left behind where it came from.
A new look for What's New
The What's New screen lists each change on its own, and See All Updates opens every past update on the DayMap website.
The things that should just work
If DayMap can't save a change, it says so. A warning appears in the toolbar, and Settings explains what happened and gives you a report to send me. It should be rare. If you ever see it, the report tells me exactly what went wrong.
Two tasks can no longer be mixed up. In a rare case two tasks could be confused with each other, showing blank rows or folding together. DayMap now tells them apart on its own.
Escape clears the selection on the Mac. Before, the last task you clicked stayed highlighted.
Unschedule stays on one line on iPhone. With a time set, it used to break across three lines; it now moves to a line of its own, and so does Clear beside a deadline.
Every section above started with someone writing in. Thank you. Please keep the emails coming. They are the best part of building DayMap.
DayMap is on the Mac App Store and the App Store for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.
With gratitude,
Todd
