Privacy Policy

Effective date: 7/7/2026

DayMap (“DayMap,” “the app,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a personal planning and task management app for Apple platforms, provided by Whetstone Solutions. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app does and does not handle, and how your data is stored and protected.

DayMap is built to be private by design. Your planning data lives on your device and, if you choose, in your own personal iCloud account. We do not operate servers that collect or store your content.

1. Our approach: local-first and private

DayMap stores the projects, tasks, notes, and schedules you create locally on your device. If you enable iCloud sync, that data is also stored in your own private iCloud account managed by Apple. We never receive, view, or store your planning content on any server we control.

2. Information we do not collect

We do not:

  • Require you to create an account with us or provide an email, name, or password.

  • Collect, sell, rent, or share your personal information.

  • Use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.

  • Track your activity across other apps or websites.

  • Access the content of your projects, tasks, or notes.

3. Data you create in the app

The content you enter — projects, tasks, notes, contexts, schedules, and related settings — is stored on your device using Apple's on-device data frameworks. You control this data. You can edit or delete it at any time within the app, and deleting the app removes its local data from that device.

4. iCloud sync (optional)

If you enable sync, DayMap uses Apple's CloudKit to keep your data consistent across your devices. This means:

  • Your data is stored in your personal iCloud account, not on our servers.

  • Sync is handled by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy and iCloud terms.

  • We cannot access the contents of your iCloud data.

Sync is optional and can be turned off. Disabling iCloud in your system settings, or turning off sync in the app, stops this behavior.

5. Calendar access

DayMap can add your scheduled tasks to your calendar so they appear alongside your other events. If you turn on calendar sync and grant permission, the app uses Apple's EventKit framework to create and manage its own task events in a calendar you choose.

  • Calendar access is optional and requested only when you turn on calendar sync.

  • DayMap writes your task events to your calendar; it does not collect, display, or transmit your existing calendar events. (It reads the list of your calendars only so you can choose which one to sync to.)

  • To sync with Google, Outlook, or other calendars, connect them to your device’s system Calendar first; DayMap works through the system, not directly with those services.

  • Sync is one-directional (DayMap → your calendar) and can be turned off anytime; you can revoke calendar access in your device’s Privacy & Security settings.

6. Purchases and subscriptions

DayMap offers optional paid features (DayMap Pro) through Apple's App Store using StoreKit. When you make a purchase:

  • Payment is processed by Apple, not by us. We never see your payment card or billing details.

  • Apple provides us with anonymous, aggregate information about purchases and subscription status so the app can unlock the features you bought and so we can understand overall sales. This does not identify you personally to us.

Purchases are governed by Apple's App Store terms.

7. Diagnostics and analytics

DayMap does not include third-party analytics or tracking.

Apple may provide us with aggregate, anonymized App Store metrics (such as download counts and crash statistics) if you have opted in to sharing diagnostics with developers in your device settings. This data is collected and anonymized by Apple, is not tied to your identity, and can be disabled in your device’s Privacy settings.

8. Data retention and deletion

Because your data is stored on your device and in your iCloud account:

  • To delete local data, delete the content in the app or remove the app.

  • To delete synced data, remove it in the app and/or manage DayMap data in your iCloud storage settings.

  • We hold no copy of your content to delete on our end.

9. Children's privacy

DayMap is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Your rights

Because we do not collect or hold your personal data, most data-subject requests (access, correction, deletion) are satisfied directly within the app and your iCloud account. If you have questions about your rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA, contact us at the address below and we will help where we can.

11. Third-party services

The only third party involved in the core operation of DayMap is Apple, which provides the operating system, iCloud storage, calendar access, and payment processing. Your use of those services is governed by Apple’s terms and privacy policy.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Effective date” above and, where appropriate, noted in the app or on our website. Continued use of DayMap after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
