No grey box behind the day's timed tasks
Tasks with a time sit pinned at the foot of their day. The grey panel behind them made them harder to read rather than easier, and the line above them already says they are separate.
Scheduler text size on the iPad
Settings, Appearance. The calendar's text is smaller than the planner's above it, which is deliberate - the calendar fits seven days across. The Mac has had a control for that balance and the iPad had none. Three steps now, and Extra Large makes the two match. It works alongside your system text size rather than replacing it.
iCloud sync follows your setting and your plan
Switching iCloud sync off now stops it, and on the free tier DayMap keeps your data on the device. Whatever has already reached iCloud stays there, and your tasks are on your device either way.
Repeating tasks are no longer crossed out
A repeating task in a project could appear struck through and greyed, as though it were finished, with no way to change it back. A repeat is a rule rather than a task you finish, and it now looks like one on every device.
A task that could go missing on the Watch
If you moved one day of a repeating task and later cleared that task's date, the day you moved still showed on iPhone and Mac but not on the Watch. It shows everywhere now, and the Watch complication counts it.
Carry unfinished work to today
Settings, Your Day. Anything left on an earlier day moves onto today the first time you open DayMap each day, oldest first. It tells you what it moved and offers to put it back. Repeating and finished tasks are left alone.
Reorder tasks on the iPhone
Tap Edit on a project and drag the handles. Root tasks; subtasks travel with their parent.
The task you are dragging steps back
The task you picked up now fades while you carry it, and settles into its new day rather than appearing there. It no longer floats a labelled pill beside it - you drag the row itself, as the old DayMap did.
The iPad keyboard works in the planner and the calendar
Delete removes the selected task, and takes a selected block off the calendar. Space ticks a task off. Command-Z puts back what you deleted. None of those had ever reached those panes. Clicking a task now lets go of the search box, and both keys still belong to whatever you are typing in.
Space completes a task on the Mac calendar
Select a scheduled block and press space, as you can in the planner.
Typing no longer sets off a keyboard shortcut, or disables one
A space typed into a project's name ran the shortcut for completing the selected task instead of typing a space. Separately, adding or renaming once left every shortcut dead until the app was quit. Fixed on every platform.
Drag several tasks at once
On a Mac, Command-click or Shift-click to select more than one task, then drag them together - onto a day, onto another task, or onto a project. They land in the order you see them, and a selection can span projects. Deleting several asks first.
Duplicate a task
In a task's menu, next to Copy, on Mac and iPhone. The copy keeps the notes, subtasks, day and deadline.
Project colors on the iPad calendar
A scheduled task shows its project's color down its left edge, as it does on the Mac. On iPad there had been no color indicator at all.
A quieter mark for scheduled tasks
The red badge beside a scheduled task is a thin outline now rather than a filled circle, and iPhone and Mac draw it the same way.

The size picker has a fourth, larger step.

You can see what you have selected
Selecting a task in a dark-colored project barely showed anything. A selected row now stands out whatever color its project is, while still carrying that project's tint.
Choose where captured items go
Quick Add and voice capture always put things in your Inbox. Settings, General, "Capture to" lets you pick any project instead. The Inbox stays the default.
Add a task straight onto a day
In the week view, hover a day for a + or double-click an empty part of the column, then type. Your text is read for dates as usual, but the day you picked wins.
Selecting in one pane shows it in the other
Click something on the calendar and its task is highlighted in the project list; click a task and every day it falls on is highlighted on the calendar.
Dictation settings on the Mac
Choosing the language voice capture listens for was only ever possible on iPhone. It is in Mac Settings now.
Clearer answers when calendar access is refused
If DayMap could not be given access to your calendar, it now names the two causes it could not name before: running the iPhone and iPad version of DayMap on a Mac, which cannot be granted access that way, and Screen Time restrictions quietly preventing the permission box from appearing at all.

Drag a task to any day, not just a visible one
While dragging a task, hold it over the arrows beside the date and the calendar pages under it, or over Today to jump back. Before this, a day that was not already on screen could not be reached by dragging at all.
The iPhone stays upright
Turning a larger iPhone sideways used to switch DayMap to its iPad layout, a different screen with its own filters. On an iPhone-sized screen that was never the right answer, so the iPhone is portrait only now. iPad is unchanged.
Settings is grouped
iPhone Settings was fourteen sections in one long scroll. It is now seven groups you can see at once — Appearance, Your Day, Calendar, Reminders, iCloud and Backups, Areas, and General — each opening its own page. Calendar sync and calendar events are together at last.

Settings ends with an About section: which version you are running, the guide, the keyboard shortcuts page, support, terms and privacy, and a button that emails support with your version and device already filled in.

Templates
Any task with subtasks is a checklist. Now you can keep one and start it again whenever you need it. Right-click a task on the Mac, or press and hold it on iPhone, and choose Save as Template, then give it a name. Start one from the project menu on the Mac, or from under Add Task on iPhone.
Templates live in an ordinary project called Templates, so editing one is editing a task. Copies arrive undated, so nothing shows up already late.
Templates are part of DayMap Pro. If your subscription ends, your templates stay where they are and you can still read them. A checklist you already started is an ordinary task and stays yours to finish.

Turning on calendar access
If DayMap could not be given access to your calendar, the message you saw pointed you to a System Settings pane that did not list DayMap, because macOS only lists an app there once it has managed to ask. The message now says what is actually happening and what to do instead, and the button to open Settings appears only when there is something there to change.
Every keyboard shortcut, on one page
Help then Keyboard Shortcuts. The board and the calendar have keys that appear in no menu, so there was no way to discover them from inside the app. Now there is a page that lists all of them.

Duplicate events in Apple Calendar
If you sync tasks to Apple Calendar and use DayMap on more than one device, the same task could appear two or three times on the same day, because each device made its own copy without recognizing the others. New copies stopped being made in the last update. This one clears the copies already in your calendar.
Only DayMap's own calendar is touched. If you sync into a calendar of your own, nothing in it is removed.

New projects, where you want them
Right-click a project column on the Mac and choose New Project to the Right, and the new project lands just after that one rather than at the far end of the board. On iPhone, press and hold a project row and choose New Project Below. The button at the foot of the list still adds to the end.
Step between areas from the keyboard
Control-Tab moves to the next area and Shift-Control-Tab goes back, so you can change what the board is showing without reaching for the mouse. All Areas is part of the cycle, so you can clear a filter the same way you set one. Areas are part of DayMap Pro.

Bring your data from the old DayMap
If you used DayMap years ago, your projects and tasks can come across. Open Settings and look for "Coming from DayMap 2?". DayMap shows you exactly what it will bring before it does anything, tells you what it cannot bring, and saves a backup of your current data first. Importing the same file twice will not make copies.
Waypoint keeps what you wrote
Writing a Waypoint on two devices on the same day could leave each device showing only its own copy, which looked like your writing had disappeared. Nothing was lost, and both pieces now come together into one entry.
Waypoint is easier to reach on iPhone, and Return starts a new line in an answer instead of finishing it.
Undo puts everything back
Deleting a task and undoing could return it without its Daily Bearing rank, its place in the day, its repeat interval or its deadline. It now comes back whole.
Changing a project's area is where you would look for it, near the top of Get Info rather than below the colors.
Type the day into the task
End a task with a day and DayMap schedules it there. "Email Tom back on Tuesday" becomes a task called "Email Tom back", on Tuesday. Times work too. Quick Add shows you what it understood before you press Return, and a day only counts when it is the last thing you typed - so "Meet with Tuesday Weld" stays exactly as you wrote it.
Undo on the calendar
Dragging a task onto a day, or taking one off, can now be undone with Command-Z - and it comes back with its day, its time and its Daily Bearing. Removing a single day of a repeating task in Month view no longer takes the whole series off the calendar.
Switching areas is one click
Clicking an area switches to it, rather than adding it to the one you were already looking at. To see several at once, Command-click on a Mac or use "Show Several", which is also how it works on iPhone.

Dragging tasks is fast again
Moving a task to another day could make DayMap stop responding, especially with a lot of tasks. It was doing far more work than it needed to every time you dropped one. Nothing was ever lost - the move was always saved before the app stalled - but it should now stay responsive however much you drag.
Calendar switches explain themselves
The two calendar options could switch themselves back off without saying why. Three different things cause that, and DayMap now tells you which one, with a button that takes you to the right place in System Settings.

Repeat every few weeks, months, or years
Monthly and Yearly were the only choices, with nothing between them. Now a repeating task can be every 3 weeks, every 6 months, every 2 years - whatever you need. Asked for by a customer whose task comes round twice a year.
Contexts are now Areas
A context is where you can do something. What DayMap groups your projects into is a domain of responsibility - Work, Family, Home - which is an area, and now it says so. Nothing moved; your projects are filed exactly where they were.
You can also show several areas at once. Tick Work and Home and both appear together, instead of choosing one and losing sight of the other.
Keep the Inbox in view
On a Mac, the Inbox can now hold its place while the rest of the board scrolls, so it stays reachable when you have a lot of projects. It's in the Inbox column's menu.
Add subtasks on iPhone
Long-press a task to add one. Subtasks could be seen and rearranged on iPhone but not created - now they can.

- On a Mac, the add-subtask button on a task row no longer shifts the row as your pointer moves down a column.
Version 1.11
Arrange your day anywhere
You could always drag tasks into the order you meant to work them, but only in one place. Now you can do it wherever you see a day: the Upcoming list, Focus, and on your iPhone. On a Mac you can also move a task with Option-Up and Option-Down, no dragging at all. On iPhone, tap Arrange on the Day view.
Dictation speaks your language
Voice capture listened in English no matter what you spoke. It now follows your system language, and Settings lets you pick a different one.
Long task names are readable
A task name longer than its column used to be cut off with no way to read the rest without opening the task. Titles and note previews now show two lines.
Fixed
- The upgrade screen's buttons only responded to clicks landing exactly on the text. The whole row works now. If you tried to buy DayMap Pro on a Mac and nothing happened, this was why, and we're sorry. - The "Clear" button beside a task's date is now called "Unschedule" - which is what it always did. To remove just the time, switch off "Set a specific time"; the day and the bearing stay put. - If you don't keep your calendar in Calendar, tapping an event no longer has to open it. Settings > Calendar Events > "Clicking an event". - A purchase that needs approval, or that can't be verified, now tells you instead of looking like nothing happened. - Shift-Command-K now actually shows and hides calendar events.

- Shift-Command-E collapses or expands the project you're working in. - Shift-Command-K shows and hides calendar events.
Right-click a task on the calendar or in Focus and the menu now names the project it belongs to.

The new name is now kept either way, and Escape cancels. • Contexts that shared a name are now merged into one, and creating a context that already exists reuses it. Before, the color was assigned when the context was created and couldn't be changed. • Settings now tells you plainly when calendar sync or reminders have stopped because DayMap Pro ended, instead of leaving you to work it out. • Groundwork for sharing projects with other people, which is what we're building toward.

What's new in this version:
• Repeating tasks no longer run out. DayMap works out a repeat's dates as it draws each day, so a repeating task keeps going as far ahead as you care to look — it used to stop about six months out. • A monthly task set for the 31st stays on the 31st. It used to drift to the 28th after the first February and never recover. Yearly tasks on 29 February are fixed the same way. • Mac: ⌘⇧T brings overdue work to today, and ⌘Z puts it all back if you change your mind. A column's menu does the same for a single project. • Waypoint explains itself now. Every question carries a note on what it's for, and so does the pane. • Reminders that won't switch on say why, and offer a button to the setting that fixes it. • Dragging tasks and arranging a day stay fast however much history you've built up, and the Watch loads only the day it's showing. • DayMap now runs on macOS 14 Sonoma.
